Guruji bought a plot of land on Sunset Boulevard in the 1930's.
And had wanted to build a Church of All Religions...
But was severely short of funds.
One day, when he was sitting at Mt. Washington in LA, a plaster piece fell near him, and exposed some termites. He prayed to God, and said that "now you have created another problem for me, and now I will have to repair Mt. Washington property, rather than build a new church at Sunset Boulevard."
The next day, a lawyer friend called. And told Guruji, that a wealthy friend of his had purchased a large property in Hollywood. And that there was a small church on the premises. Which he wanted to sell to anyone interested.
Finally, SRF acquired this church for a small amount, and moved it to Sunset Boulevard. They renovated it, and Guruji himself told the contractors that he wanted stained glass for the windows. Which still today stand in good condition.
